MK to Paris Cycle Challenge for Willen Hospice

MK to Paris Cycle Challenge for Willen Hospice

Olney RFC Publicity28 Aug 2024 - 14:38

...Allez Allez!

Dan Cooke, Social Committee and ex Chair of M&Js, is back on his bike to raise much needed funds for Willen Hospice.

[in his words] At the ripe old age of 50, I will be cycling from Milton Keynes to Paris, raising much needed funds for Willen Hospice. From 12 – 16 September 2024, Willen Hospice’s cycling challenge will take me from the hospice itself in Milton Keynes to the Eiffel Tower in Paris – a total of 270 miles and 8000ft of climbing over the 4 days. I will be joined by many others, including Brett Kennedy who’s son had been part of the M&Js for many years.

Sadly, many in the area are too aware of the amazing work that Willen Hospice undertakes either through the Hospice or their ‘Willen at home’ team. With only 15% of their funding coming from the NHS, the Hospice are forced to rasie £11.23 every minute of every year so they can continue to provide care for our loved ones.

If you would like to support me in raising funds please click the link below, any donation is hugely appreciated.

The Club wishes Dan all the best for yet another amazing findraising challenge and we know he will celebrate with a glass of France’s best at the Eiffel tower...that’s right, Dan loves Vittel mineral water !
